Cat Got Your Tongue?

Ok, so that may sound a little bitchy. But hey, I can deal with it.

Anyway, I'm still in the office, enjoying the coldness of the darn airconditioning, again. I know, I've complained about it a thousand times already, but I also still kinda like wallowing in it, because here, at least I get to use the internet.

Hmmm, here are my 5's for today...

5 Crazy Things I did today (so far!):
  1. drank coke light at breakfast.
  2. downloaded 2 ghostgirl screensavers
  3. added a theme to my firefox browser
  4. downloaded and used a theme also for my windows
  5. had just about 4 cups of coffee in the 8 hours of office time.

5 People I spend a lot of time talking with (everyday, mind you):
  1. IRISH!!!! - as in this girl is a champion when it comes to talking!!!
  2. marilac
  3. mamemie
  4. teresa
  5. cristine (I consider emailing a form of talk! so sue me...)

5 Things I do early in the morning (in the office):
  1. turn on my computer
  2. have coffee
  3. check my emails
  4. check my blogs
  5. have coffee :)

5 Things I look at the workplace:
  1. the computer
  2. other people
  3. my files
  4. other people
  5. other files
hehehe!

5 Things I hate about my work:
  1. the airconditioning - like these guys don't mind if we all freeze to death!!!
  2. the pay - ok, so sometimes the pay is good, you'd understand if you try working here, but most of the times, and looking at the pay history, salary here is more like a burden to give than a benefit
  3. other people - do i still need to explain?
  4. work options - you actually don't have any
  5. number of bosses - you actually don't have just one boss in this company, the list can go up to 3 or 5 bosses... duh.

On Letting Go...

Found this article a few months ago, the link was given by Wax. And it's written by Louise Ganey.

When You Can't Let Go

So it's been over for a while. You've tried your best not to ring him or see him. Perhaps you've done the opposite, and sought him out at every opportunity, and rung him when you knew you shouldn't. Either way, you still can't stop thinking about him, and although you may have tried various ways to distract yourself, you can't get him out of your head. Unrequited love is frustrating, painful, and not that uncommon. I've watched quite a few of my close girlfriends experience this kind of heartache to a horrendous degree. I too, have found myself pining pathetically away over a lost love. It's hard, and it hurts. But you can, and will eventually let him go and move on.

So what can you do?

Don't call him or try and see him. It will always end in tears. If by some chance you can catch him, either by phone or in person, you are just placing a short-term bandaid on your heart. At first, this contact will make you feel good, until he reinforces to you that's over and he has moved on (this is where the tears begin). It's just like breaking up all over again. All you're doing is putting yourself into a vulnerable and painful situation again. If you think that by making contact with him, you can change how he feels, you will be disappointed. Remember, as much as love can be a beautiful experience, it can also be so cruel. The reality is, if he had decided he wanted you back, then he would have tried to contact you. If he's made no attempt to do this, then he doesn't want you back. Trying to persuade him to get back together will only frustrate you and ultimately anger him. He knows there is nothing he can say or do to make you feel any better, and contacting him will only frustrate him. In the end if you keep calling, the only way you're going to make him happy, is by leaving him alone for good.

If you can, try and reverse the situation. If you ended the relationship, and your ex kept calling to try and convince you to get back together, it wouldn't take long until you would dread the thought of hearing from him. It's just the same for guys.

Surround yourself with your girlfriends. When you are going through a difficult battle such as this one, go to your girlfriends, that's what they're there for. It's okay to vent your feelings when you first break up with your partner, but if you keep rehashing the same thing, they too will become sick of hearing about it. If this starts to happen, they're not being bitchy, there's just nothing they can say or do to help. Use them to take your mind off things. Your friends would rather you do this than hear the same old story over and over about why he doesn't want to be with you.

Try doing girl things together. Go shopping, have a girl's night out, or take a weekend away. For most girls, close girlfriends can be like an extended family, and they will love you through the tough times, but they need to see you are trying to help yourself. No matter how much people care, they do get sick of someone who's not trying to help themselves.

Throw yourself into work, hobbies, and recreation. Even if you can't stop thinking about your ex, get out and live. It may not be helpful to start with, but after a while it can ease the heartache. Once the relationship's over, it's important you start rebuilding your life. Often when couples are together for a while, they're worlds entwine and become one. So it's normal to feel a little lost. Sometimes what you may be missing is the security of having a predictable and safe love and social life. Many people lose contact with their friends when they fall in love, and once it's over they feel completely devastated at the loss of not just their ex, but of the life they gave up to be with them. And when it's over, things are going to change dramatically. Change is sometimes terrifying, but it can also be wonderful. If change scares you, try and turn it around. Embrace chance. With change comes growth, and when you grow, the person you should find at the end will be a beautiful and strong survivor.

If you've tried everything. If it's been months, and you still can't find you can let go of your ex, you may need to seek out some counselling. You will probably find that the problem lies a lot deeper than the ending of a relationship. Talking with someone other than your friends can often throw a new perspective on the situation, and you may find that there are other alternatives to help you move on. Seeing a professional for a relationship break-up does mean you are weak or hopeless. If you cannot move on, this is actually a healthy decision, and is quite common.

Letting go of someone you love and accepting that they no longer want to be with you can be a painful thing to cope with. But the heart does heal; it's just some just take longer than others. And remember you've lived much of your life without this person before, and you can do it again. You just need to be strong, and hang on.

Blog Walking

Hmm, "walked" through Girlie's blog after spending a chunk of my afternoon time in our mini-library looking through SOP's and other things. And oh, I just discovered that Mary Jean's gonna be heading the due diligence engagement for our company. Way to go MJ!!! *clap clap clap* So you're a senior now, huh?! Hmmm...
Anyway, I also checked myy email, and guess what? Wala lang. Hahaha, joke. In fairness, I just found these articles (which are quite common, mind you) amusing.

CREATING PERFECT RELATIONSHIPS?
A person visited the government matchmaker for marriage, SDU, and requested "I am looking for a spouse. Please help me to find a suitable one." The SDU officer said, "Your requirements, please." "Oh, good looking, polite, humorous , sporty, knowledgeable, good in singing and dancing. Willing to accompany me the whole day at home during my leisure hour, if I don't go out. Telling me interesting stories when I need companion for conversation and be silent when I want to rest."
The officer listened carefully and replied, "I understand you need television."
There is a saying that a perfect match can only be found between a blind wife and a deaf husband ,because the blind wife cannot see the faults of the husband and the deaf husband cannot hear the nagging of the wife. Many couples are blind and deaf at the courting stage and dream of perpetual perfect relationship. Unfortunately, when the excitement of love wears off, they wake up and discover that marriage is not a bed of roses. The nightmare begins.

RIGHT SPEECH
There is a Chinese saying which carries the meaning that "A speech will either prosper or ruin a nation." Many relationships break off because of wrong speech. When a couple is too close with each other,we always forget mutual respect and courtesy. We may say anything without considering if it would hurt the other party.
A friend and her millionaire husband visited their construction site. A worker who wore a helmet saw her and shouted,"Hi, Emily! Remember me? We used to date in the secondary school."
On the way home, her millionaire husband teased her, "Luckily you married me.Otherwise you will be the wife of a construction worker." She answered ,"You should appreciate that you married me. Otherwise, he will be the millionaire and not you."
Frequently exchanging these remarks plants the seed for a bad relationship. It's like a broken egg - cannot be reversed.

So there. Hehehe.... Hello

Away from Home

I remember the time I started blogging; it was also when I was away from Cebu - the place I called home for quite some time. And now, here I am, reminiscing.rolleyes

I'm not originally from Cebu. I grew up in Bulacan (that's in Luzon), then we migrated, like birds, to Zamboanga. Funny, redface because I couldn't understand a whole sentence then without frowning. Hehe.

So I learned to speak Bisaya through my grade 6 classmates. The room was divided into half by then, half was pro their bet for the best student, and the half, was of course, rooting for me. The guys and gals that taught me I considered my barkada also at that time. They were composed of my cousins (my uncles & aunts, actually), and their friends. What they did was that they don't respond to me nor talk to me unless I talk in Bisaya. So what did the freakin' gurl do? Learned and spoke Bisaya. Left me no choice you know.

And after a while I went to Davao. Had to. I was taking the scholarship. And then college to Cebu. And this is where I spent most of my time from then on. I considered it my home for quite a while because loved ones were there too. But now....

Anyway, still have the closest of friends in Cebu. They're still there. Living their lives, glad to be disturbed when I needed company. Sometimes even thankful for the distraction. hehehe.

Thanks guys, luv ya. See ya around.
