Post-Holiday Tantrums

On the first day after a long week-end due to a holiday, I feel super tired even though we didn't really do much yesterday except buy materials to make our own table lamp. {Go nie, go!} Hehehe.

Anyway, we've finished that lamp already but later this morning decided that we'd like to redo the whole thing for a better shade design, which would be more to our liking than what we have come up yesterday.

I'm also supposed to be doing a lot of work today with all those deadlines and everything, remember, it's the 'Ber month next week!!! Ngrrrrh! Haven't got a solid audit rating system yet, but we'll get to that. Have no fear.

Go ahead my dear, comfort yourself....

And just a side note, saw two of our external auditors last Saturday in campus, Roy announced that he was indeed teaching, even asked me if I'd like to try it out, and apparently.... I'd rather not.

Waiting in Vain

I am now current irked by the thought that some if not all of the managers in our company resent the "help" that internal audit is trying to give them. We're actually here to evaluate the current system implemented in our operations, citing instances and procedures that we have found to be inefficient and/or ineffective. I am now actually, beating my brains out trying to develop an Audit Rating system for the company, and simultaneously closing up issues uncovered during regular audits while also trying not to focus on the impending problem of self-reviewing for the certification exam for internal auditors. In short, if I don't suppress it quite successfully, I'm going to break down.

Hmmm, and now this manager is prolonging my agony by not answering my email regarding an appointment I asked for to discuss issues regarding our cost control section which is basically under her wings. Aside from that, Ms Pots is being not quite endearing in her follow-ups lately after being so stressed out during our trip to Mimosa. She's a bit disgruntled by the way we were treated and received there, so let's just give her some space to unwind her brain.

Anyway, it's kinda really getting into me, that I'm right here, wasting valuable time waiting for someone who seems like she doesn't want to iron out the system that she's supposedly handling very well - if we base it on her payroll. *sigh*

Sony Ericsson Service Center in Ayala Center Cebu

Have you ever experienced being passed on from one service center to another?
Well if ever you'd want to have a first hand try like we did, just go to the SE Service Center in Ayala Center here in Cebu City (and also in Sun Cellular, just a few doors to the left of SE). They were just enjoying the "authority" of turning down their "beloved" customers.

So what really happened?

First. My guy's phone went berserk for the third time, I think. And it was te unit that came with a postpaid plan from Sun. A Sony Ericsson, obviously, why else would we go to a SE Service Center, right. So we went first to Sun Cellular to tell them that the phone went haywire, again, and the Mediterranean-looking guy ask us what we did the first time it was 'dead'. We told him we went to the nearest SE service center to have it checked, and then told sun about it. Hmmm.

So this guy told us, that we'll just have to do the same. Take note that he did not mention anything regarding a service unit. And at this point of the sorry story, we also didn't think about it.[Finish this post by clicking on "Read the rest of the story here..."]

Anyway, so went to SE (if you're wondering what SE stands for, that's Sony Ericssons, abbreviated, 'coz my fingers are getting tired) and told them about the situation. So they took in the phone for those diagnostic exams to determine what went wrong - technically, 'coz from out point of view it's as simple as the screen is not working. And we left.

After about 2 weeks, we realized, hmm, we needed a service unit. We're paying for the postpaid plan, without the unit that came with it. We're getting banged up by Sun. So we went back to talk to the Sun people regarding the service unit (we went first to SE and asked what happened to the phone. The geeky girl said that they're sending it to Manila for repair or possibly a replacement), only to be confronted by another tech guy (who we'll call SunGuy-A) sitting right next to the Mediterranean-looking gay - I mean guy - and told that we should have informed them first before letting the SE people take the unit.

WHAT THE Fa....?!

It seems that SunGuy-A is just trying to turn us down sounding like it's our fault for not bringing the darn unit to Sun Cellular first! At this point I stood up and went up to their table, I was getting bored and wanted a piece of the action. So as calmly as I could tell off SunGuy-A, I told him: "It seems there is a communication gap between you people and SE. In the first place, this guy (I pointed at Mediterranean-looking guy) should have first gotten a statement or held the unit here first instead of telling us to go to SE, because as brainy people that we are, we would understand such simple instructions. [Gotcha, I didn't quite phrase it that way, but the thought's like that.] My BF then said that how come Sun and other postpaid plan providers are so obnoxious in collecting delayed payments and even threatens the user when in cases like these, the don't even provide service units!

And so the next topic arose. There is a service unit, per SunGuy-A, it's just that it's not available. So we asked whether we can just temporarily cut the line, which prompted Mediterranean-looking gay to touch SunGuy-A's shoulder, gesturing him to calm down also, since at this point he looks as if he's on the verge of tears. And instead offered to go with us to SE and ask for a service unit if they have one, or at least to fast track the repair or replacement or whatever. We were nice people, so we just told them we'll go ourselves, leaving a straight point that next time, they should clarify things with their unit providers and not try to intimidate their plan holders like what they did with us. Besides, Customers are always right.

So..... I'll just leave you hanging in there for the continuation. Hahahaha!

Darn it.

I just got back from a business trip and was irked to find out that these fumbling weirdos in Mindanao went berserk and started attacking people even before the cock crowed. So annoying.

I'm even more annoyed because right now, I'm so darn concerned with how my brother's doing. He's in Iligan, trying his hardest to convince his stressed out mind that he's going to be okay and leaving the town is an even more stressful and dangerous option. He's actually very far from home, and I wish I could do something to get him out of there. Those fumbling idiots! Grrrhhh. If at least my brother could just find a way out of there to where I am right now, it would be just so comforting. He couldn't even travel back to my parents' home because those darn morons are along the highways and byways scaring people and threatening attacks! This is just so frustrating.

The JOKER'S Death No Longer Being Probed

If he was a real character, then maybe they would continue.

According to Yahoo! News "Federal prosecutors have decided not to pursue a criminal case into how Heath Ledger obtained the powerful painkillers that contributed to his overdose death this year, a law enforcement official said Wednesday."

Heat died after filming his most brilliant movie ever, The Dark Knight, where he spent a month in isolation trying to figure out what to do with his character - the Joker. He did it so well that maybe it brought such a devastating psychological effect on him that he was prescribed (legally) by anti-depressants and anti-stress medications.

It was also reported earlier that Mary Kate Olsen, one of Heath's closest buds and the first person called up by the masseuse after seeing Heath's dead body, has filed for immunity on the guy's "illegal" procurement of prescription drugs. Since there is no valid case, then the notion of being subpoenaed to appear in court no longer stands.

Leaving for Mimosa

Just received a call from Ms Pots and I was told that we should be leaving for Manila on Sunday for the inventory count of Mimosa, which is in Clark (Pampanga).

So maybe here are the things to do for that trip:
1. File for the Travel Authorization - basic idea of this is that for a properly authorized disbursement of funds for the airfare and of course, the lovely per diem, we should file for it!
2. Prepare our things such as our laptops, pens, pencils, papers or something, our clothes (obviously!), and toiletries.
3. Prepare for the task. Meaning, I still have to familiarize myself and my staff (shucks...redface) for the impending inventory count. We wouldn't want to be a disappointment to the BigBoss and in turn be discouraged, right?

So there. That's what happened, for now. Anyway, we're finishing up reports and other things and then when we get back from Manila, we'll be preparing for another trip to go and rock the front desk.cool

Forwarded Humor

Let's put some humor into our regular office day... ok?
Here goes!

Short Cuts

There are no short cuts in life,
but it doesn't necessarily mean you have to take the long road.

Morgan Freeman Seriously Wounded!

FYI. I love this actor.

According to Yahoo! News,

"Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman was hospitalized in serious condition Monday after the car he was driving left a rural road in the Mississippi Delta and flipped several times.

Freeman, 71, was airlifted to the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn., about 90 miles north of the accident in rural Tallahatchie County.

The actor "has a broken arm, broken elbow and minor shoulder damage, but is in good spirits," according to a statement from Donna Lee, Freeman's publicist. A hospital spokeswoman said Freeman was in serious condition but would not discuss his injuries."

Hmmm, nice guy, bad luck.
Crazy.

I AM Left-Brained.

Most left-brained people like you feel at ease in situations requiring verbal ability, attention to detail, and linear, analytical ability. Whether you know it or not, you are a much stronger written communicator than many, able to get your ideas across better than others.

It's also likely that you are methodical and efficient at many things that you do. You could also be good at math, particularly algebra, which is based on very strict rules that make sense to your logical mind.
